COLUMBAS SCHOOL DEOGHAR lower Primary Level, Middle Primary As per NCERT guidelines, the assessment structure and examination have been prepared in view of the provisions of RTE-ACT 2009 and comprises of two terms i.e. Term-1 and 2.

The school fosters the overall development of students through regular assessments. The academic include core and additional subjects, skill and socially useful productive work and co-curricular activities. The school is well equipped with laboratories for Computer, Science & Mathematics. There are several co-curricular activities in the school which enable the children to acquire mastery over their inherent potentials and equip them to face life with too ease and confidence.

Curriculum Atst. Columbas School

Curriculum is a tool in the hands of the artist (the teacher). This is made in accordance with his/her ideals in his studio (the school). We formulate our curriculum and co curricular activities of educational program in such a way so as to create the masterpiece ( the students). The curriculum caters to exercise of practical life, sensational activities, mathematical ability, language development and gross motor skills. Meals: Rich, healthy and nutritionally balanced meal is served in a clean and hygienic environment by the school (in Montessori section). It provides tasty, varied and wholesome vegetarian meal. The children eat under our care. The school is equipped with Mineral Water Dispensers.

Montessori is a "HOME AWAY FROM HOME" for the tiny tots who step into the world of learning thus exploring the new domains of life.

Discipline And Accidental Insurance

General Discipline

Discipline comes by orderliness. Self discipline is what the school encourages. The School expects co-operation from the parent to bring about discipline in the child: Together we can do it. Breaking School rules, insubordination contempt of authority are not appreciated. The school may take necessary action for the same.

Valuables

It is not advisable for the students to bring valuable articles to the school. The school will not be responsible for the loss of books, valuables etc. They are advised to bring their belonging in a bag or case that can be properly locked.

Accidents and accidental insurance

Though the school takes all normal precaution for the safety of the students, it does not take any responsibility for accidents.

Parents Guideline

  • The School Diary is a valuable means for parents to keep in touch with the school. Parents are advised to read the contents of this diary carefully.
  • Parents are expected to check their ward's diary daily to see if the teacher has written any remarks and respond by signing.
  • Parents are advised to send applications every time when the child remains absent.
  • Parents must encourage self help and personal hygiene of their wards and send them to school in neat and clean uniform of appropriate size and well polished shoes. This will enhance their self confidence.
  • Parents are advised to motivate their wards to converse in English.
  • Parents are apprised to attend the Parent-Teacher Interactions and all events of the school as and when they are organized.
  • Parents are advised to feel free to contact the school, when they find that their wards are not making the desired progress.
  • Parents are advised to encourage self imposed discipline on their wards as it brings about orderliness and is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.

Disciplinary Rules to be followed by students

  • 1. Students should be habitually clean and always be neatly dressed. The school uniform should be worn on all working days. Students not in proper uniform will not be allowed to enter their class rooms.
  • 2. Nails should be cut/trimmed regularly. Non-Sikh boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals. Only black and white hair grips/pins are allowed.
  • 3. Students should not leave their class without permission of the teacher. They should also not leave the school premises without prior permission from the Principal. Students should be trained by the parents to take care of their belongings. Any loss of items of students is not school's liability.
  • 4. No books (other than text books), CD's, newspapers, periodicals may be brought to the school without the permission of the Principal or Class teacher.
  • 5. Wearing wrist watches is prohibited. However, students of senior classes can carry an ordinary wrist watch during examination time only.
  • 6. Hair must not be tainted or dyed. Use of henna on hair and hands is not allowed.
  • 7. Fancy and multiple earrings are not allowed.
  • 8. Lending or borrowing money or other articles is not permitted.
  • 9. It is strictly forbidden to throw anything at anyone or physically harm others.
  • 10. No Student will come out from the class for any reason without outgoing pass. Students should maintain strict discipline while going pass from one class to another.
  • 11. Care must be taken to preserve the school's property
  • 12. Bursting crackers or splashing colours during Diwali or Holi in the school premises is strictly forbidden. Noncompliance of these instructions can result in expulsion from the school.
